Pride Logistics: What You Need To Know

by Pride Transport | Jul 14, 2021

In 2005, Pride Transport started Pride Logistics. It only makes sense. A superior carrier has the inside know-how to be a superior logistics company as well.

Pride Logistics shares the same objective as Pride Transport, to accomplish two primary goals. First, to be a valued option to our Pride customers by providing the same service they expect from the Pride fleet, now in a logistics operation.  Second, to provide a good living for our contracted carriers as well as all Pride employees. Pride Logistics was built on the same foundation upon which we built Pride Transport, to best serve our customers and treat every driver with respect and value their contribution to the company.

Pride has approached the logistics arm of the supply chain with the same passion, the same exciting attention to detail, and the same culture of respect and appreciation with which they started Pride Transport.

Transportation & Logistics

Although both are essential parts of the supply chain, these two terms are often used interchangeably, and, frankly, that’s just not correct. There are differences in each aspect of the supply chain and, even though Pride does both, it’s essential to know the differences.

In simplest terms:

  • Transportation is the movement of goods.
  • Logistics is the management of the inward and outward transportation of goods from the manufacturer to the end-user.

While it may seem easy to use these two terms interchangeably, they are very different parts of the supply chain. Logistics can contain the elements of integration of storage, cataloging, handling, and packaging of goods as well as transportation. Logistics is a more detailed process.

Things included in logistics

Under the heading of logistics, you’ll find several processes that are not involved in transportation. What you will find a logistics team handling is some of the following.

  • Obtaining, producing, and distributing materials and products to the end-user.
  • The science of managing and implementing procedures for the most efficient and effective transportation and storage of goods.
  • The management of information from the source point to the customer. All this information is sent through logistics channels and designed to keep customers informed and meet and fulfill their needs.
  • Logistics managers are trained to make decisions based on packaging, containerization, documentation, and insurance. They are also responsible for knowing importing and exporting regulations as well as how to manage freight damage.
  • Logistics managers also work collaborating claims, managing vendors, partners, and handling risk mitigation.

Pride Logistics

Passion and experience are what sets Pride Logistics apart from the herd. For Pride, providing a consistent, reliable service with a professional attitude is what the company is founded on. That goes for the fleet as well as Pride Logistics. Serve the customer to the very best of our ability while always valuing and respecting each and every driver. That includes the carriers that Pride contracts for logistical purposes.

Speaking of partner carriers, all of Pride’s partner carriers have qualified by passing an extensive vetting process. They all operate under the same guiding principles that have made Pride so reliable and trustworthy for so long.

Customer/Carrier Support

Pride has a dedicated and highly trained staff available around the clock to track shipments, provide access to information for customers about their loads and assist carriers on the road.

Pride’s logistics department is big enough to handle all our customer and carrier needs like other logistics companies; however, here’s the difference. Despite our size, we can still keep an eye on the details, the little things that tend to set us apart. Our team will handle all your logistical needs, keeping sharp on the details of our customer’s shipments and knowing each of our carriers by name. To some, that may be non-essential detail but not here at Pride. We are a family, we respect each other, and you know your family members’ names.

That’s vital for us here at Pride. We say we have respect for all our drivers, our contracted carriers, and our customers. Which means all. We don’t just say that for publicity purposes; we mean it: respect and dedication. We maintain the values in our logistics department that we started this company with. We adhere to the tradition of excellence that was put in place by the Pride fleet.

Shippers & Carriers

In our logistics department and across the company, we have a vested interest in our customers. We work diligently to ensure our customer relationships remain strong, with added value and superior service. We offer our logistics customers the same exceptional service that’s expected and supplied by our asset fleet.

For shippers

Our contract carriers are held to our exceptionally high standards. They must pass an extensive carrier vetting process and maintain the high standards that we demand of our asset fleet drivers and ourselves. We don’t ask our carriers to do anything that we wouldn’t expect to ask ourselves.

Any driver who works with Pride logistics is reliable, adequately insured, and is monitored by our dedicated logistics staff throughout every move.

We know our carriers are a direct reflection of all of us here at Pride and on our Pride fleet, so we take that responsibility seriously. We have worked hard and forged a pristine reputation for service and reliability. Every driver, contract carrier, and member of the Pride team is proud of that reputation, and we all work every day to keep it pristine and strong.

Our logistics team provides our customers with access to hourly tracking of their load from start to completion of delivery. We are a very transparent company. You will have all the up-to-date information about your shipment’s location and state at every point of the move.

Shippers have always trusted us with their goods and materials, and we have consistently delivered on-time service with great care and respect for the materials and goods we’re moving.

For Carriers

One of the major selling points for contracted carriers is that Pride is an asset-based logistics office. We value and respect the effort it takes to become a great carrier. This is not just lip service. Drivers founded pride, and there are still drivers who run the operation. Drivers that even drive and never forget what it takes to be the best in the business. Drivers are always valued and respected at Pride.

Pride is always seeking to work with carriers that understand the value of working with a logistics firm that wants to create and foster long term partnerships in transportation. A partnership with Pride means good work, being well cared for, and being part of a team that has a stellar reputation to uphold.

A company founded by drivers means that we know driving, and we know our carriers are on the road to make a good living for themselves and their families. For this reason, Pride offers several financial solutions for a carrier’s settlement of moves. We offer carriers expedited payment options as well as the standard term of seven days from receiving their paperwork. And, all payments can be directly deposited in an account with our ACH options.

It’s evident that both shippers and carriers benefit from a relationship with Pride, and we will continue to prove that we’re the choice for logistics daily.

The right financial solutions too

Available on our site are all the financial documents needed to start working with Pride as a carrier. Check the customer logistics page to find the documents you need to download. On the page, you’ll find:

  • Carrier Packet; This provides a quick and easy setup. Download the forms, fill them out and then return them to us at Pride. That’s all you need to do to start your set with us.
  • ACH form; For quick and easy settlements of your invoices through direct deposit.
  • Surety Bond; This is Pride’s surety bond. We want customers to know there is no risk to your company when working with Pride Transport or Pride Logistics.
  • IRS W-9 form: Either send us your pre-filled W-9 or download this form and fill it out and send it back to us. Simple.

Pride Transport has been on the road, delivering the highest standard of service for over four decades. We know the road, and we know how to move goods and materials safely and on time. With that kind of experience, it only makes sense that Pride would also be a superior logistics firm.

The same quality of service, the same high standards, and the same respect for drivers that we put into Pride Transport exist in Pride Logistics. Well managed, careful, and knowledgeable. Maybe now is the time to deliver it with Pride.
