Description

General Summary: Partners with and monitors our drivers for the daily pick-up and delivery of customer freight. Ensures tasks are performed in a safe, professional, timely and legal manner to best represent Pride Transport. The Weekend Operations Support is an example of and perpetuates the company’s culture, i.e. The Pride Way and its Core Values.

Schedule: Friday through Monday, 7 AM to 6 PM 

Pay: Hourly Wage of $18 to $23 per hour, depending on experience + shift differential 

Your responsibilities will include

Essential Job Functions:

  • Partner with and help develop driver
    • Engage in meaningful, respectful, professional and friendly interaction with each driver
    • Develop and coach drivers through continued training and discussions, specifically on:
      • Production
        • Efficiency of available hours
        • Approving 34-hour restarts
      • On-time %
      • Trip- planning
    • Answer all messages
      • Be timely in responding
    • Answer driver phone calls
      • Talk with or make contact with each driver on a daily basis
      • Build relationships/retention
    • Verbal dispatch
      • All produce loads
        • Go over loading instructions
        • PO numbers
        • Reefer temps and settings
        • Routing
      • Critical Customers
        • Go over all load info
        • Routing
        • Stress/emphasize importance of on-time delivery for these customers
        • Swap late-running loads
      • PTA’s
        • Accuracy
          • Check hours with drivers to make sure PTA’s are correct at time of loaded call
        • Safety
          • Manage drivers into compliance
            • HOS
            • Safety awareness
          • Communication
            • Notify proper individuals of late or potentially late loads prior to being too late to recover
              • Updates hourly on delays at loading or unloading to proper individuals
            • Track and Trace twice daily
              • Track all equipment to make sure they are on schedule
              • Track all picks until loaded
                • Update all computer-work with real time for accurate customer communication
              • Reports
                • On Time Report
                  • Add comments for each late load
                • Fleet utilization, Daily, Analysts’ MPU email, Dwell Time Report
              • Communication with Human Resources regarding:
                • 3+ days off for medical/illness
                • 6+ days off for personal leave
              • Documentation of driver performance and incidents
              • Attendance is an essential job function
              • Maintain expected production of fleet equipment
              • Daily temperature report
              • Less than 90-day driver
              • Tractor status entry
              • Perform other task/duties as assigned by management
Job requirements

 

  • Ability to work in a high-stress and fast-paced environment
  • 2 years of experience dispatching OTR fleets
  • Have working knowledge of all Federal, State, and local transportation laws and regulations
  • High degree of initiative and working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Work
  • Ability to organize multiple work assignments and establish priorities
  • Ability to pay close attention to details and to ensure accuracy of driver load information
  • Ability to create a team environment and sustain employee commitment

Qualified applicants will complete a pre-employment drug screen (hair follicle testing), verification of employment, and background screen.
