Schedule:  Rotating schedule of days and hours worked-AM Shift. 4 days on, 3 days off.

Pay: DOE, $25/hour, eligible for discretionary departmental monthly performance incentive

Your responsibilities will include

General Summary: Coordinates repairs for our drivers with on-road breakdowns. Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on tractors, trailers, and reefers. Perform repairs on the following systems: air, brakes, electrical, and suspension systems. Fabricate & weld chassis and other components to original specification as needed. Ensure that tasks are performed safely, professionally, and timely to best represent Pride Transport. This person is an example of and perpetuates the five-company core values. The PRIDE Way.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Assist drivers with on-road repairs.
  • Conduct incident assessment and determine if any corrective actions are required.
  • Locate the closest repair facility/Cost effective
  • Follow up periodically and communicate changes with operations.
  • Request invoice copies
  • Use the road service manual as a reference.
  • Answer incoming calls and emails.
  • Update the Road Call Center screens so accurate Estimated Completion Times (ECT’s) can be given to drivers.
  • Establish repair authorization, pricing controls and review invoices.
  • Locate the appropriate vendor closest to the breakdown to ensure minimum wait time, competitive pricing, and quality repairs to minimize cost.
  • Manage and supervise mechanics: plan and organize workload and assignments.
  • Provide leadership and direction in the development of short- and long-term plans.
  • Maintains tools, equipment, and shop area.
  • Ensure personnel is working in a safe manner.
  • Diagnose/repair/replace faulty components, systems, and parts.
  • Create repair order tickets and account for time.
  • Order parts.
  • Attendance is an essential job function.
  • Perform a variety of administrative and supervisory tasks.
  • Perform other tasks/duties as assigned by management.
  • Responsible for driver relationship to include issue resolutions, satisfaction, and retention well as ensuring vehicle uptime during the maintenance/repair process.
  • Educate drivers on the operation and features of their equipment.
  • Coordinate repairs operations and customer service.

Non-Essential Job Functions:

  • Ability to plan, budget, and schedule and supervise multiple projects from concept to completion.
  • Collaborate with operations in scheduling PM's, utilization of assets.
  • Discusses preventive techniques with drivers to minimize future repairs.
  • Responsible for optimization of net maintenance cost per unit.
  • Listen to users and assist other departments in implementing changes and improvements.
  • Continually innovate new ideas within the department.
Job requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of heavy-duty equipment and transportation.
  • Knowledge of Google Apps and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to organize multiple work assignments and establish priorities.
  • Ability to multitask.

  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older due to the equipment that will be used for this position
