    • I have a class A CDL and drove for Swift for about 5 months, 3 or 4 years ago. what kind of training am I looking at? Can I request to NOT go to the northeast US? and What kind of pay/miles can I expect driving for Pride?

      • Here is info. on the training program:This program consists of going over the road with one of our trainers for a total of 300 driving hours.

at the same time. You are paid a salary of $450.00 per week for this phase.
Once you complete the first 100 hours and your trainer is comfortable with your skills you then move into phase two. This is the team phase where one of you drives while the other sleeps. This phase lasts for 200 drive hours and you are paid .14 per mile for all miles put on the truck. You are paid for the miles you drive and the miles the trainer drives. The average miles per week during this phase is 5000 so you can expect about $700.00 per week.
Once you complete the 300 hour program you come back to the terminal and complete your road test with our Safety Trainer.

    • Robert if you have at least 3 months OTR experience in the last three years we could do a skills assessment. This is a 50 hour paid observation period. If you are interested please complete the application here on the site and then give me a call. Thanks, Steve Schelin – Director of Recruiting – 801-870-6214

  4. What are your age requirements, and would I have to go through the full 300 hr training or can I just get in a truck after orientation. Due to the fact I have three months OTR solo expierence.

    • Sorry Lynn I have been on vacation. If you can call me today I would be happy to talk to you. Steve Schelin, Director of Recruiting 800-877-1320

    • We do have programs for Veterans. If you had driving experience in the military you may be able to get a civilian CDL with no road test. We do reimburse tuition

  8. I have been with Pride Transport for 3 years now. I have driven for 3 other companies in the past but I have to say that Pride Transport is by far the best there is and will always be.

  9. I live in stillwater, NY, I have 31 years of Experience, most of it refer. Do you hire from my area?

  10. Will be heading to CDL school after Thanksgiving and am researching companies with tuition reimbursement. Do you need a driver based in Northwest Minnesota? Grand Forks and Fargo, ND are the closest larger cities to me, as well as Winnipeg, MB if you have Canadian freight. Thanks

      • Hey Steve schelin……I have a few questions…..do you hire out of so cal …if so how’s that work out and I’m trying to team up with my dad were currently employed by a small private company but are looking to get out asap…..the question is he had a dui In march of 2009 would that be an issue ?

        • Hey Charlie…Yes we hire all the time out of So. Cal. but yes the DUI would need to be 10 years old

  11. Hello,
Would I be correct in saying a person needs 3 recent years experience to work for you with out having to spend 50 hours in a truck with one of your trainers?
    Thanks Chris

    • No. We would hire you to go straight into a truck as long as you have six months OTR experience in the last three years.

  12. Do you hire out of San Antonio, TX? If so my wife and I drive team. I have about 10 years exp. with 7 years otr and 3 years local currently we are otr. My wife has 6 mths exp. What would be the rate of pay. Look forward to your reply. Thanks paul

  13. I have been driving since 1983 and have a hazmat endorsement as well as tanker. I had my own trucks for 3 years and worked for dyno Nobel transportation running anywhere from northwest British Columbia to far south Texas. I was wondering what pay rate I would start at?

  14. Hi Steve, I am a US citizen living and working in Canada and looking to move back and work in the states within the next year or so. Would you folks recognize my experience in Canada?

  15. Wow you guys look very attractive as far as a company however for running 48 states you sure do talk about not hiring in all states nor the home time..does pride transport plan on changing this?

    • When we say 48 States it means you might run anywhere. It does not mean that we hire out of all 48 States. Where do you live?

  16. Hello! I have 18 years experience of which until recently, had a perfect driving record. Had an accident, no injuries but was ticketed. Could I still be considered for employment?

  17. Do you hire from Escondido (North San Diego), CA? Where would truck be parked for hometime? What would be your requirements for 5+ years experience, but not in the last 5 years? Perfectly clean record.

    • We do hire from that area. You would need to find a place to park just the truck. With no experience in the last five years you would have to complete our paid 300 hour training program

  18. A recent ad in The Trucker magazine mentioned casual employment positions. May I get more information on this? From what yards/terminals is it available, Salt Lake, or others?

    • Yes we do for a team. Any other questions give me a call…Steve Schelin, Director of Recruiting 801-870-6214

  19. Love your website! Am starting driving school at Baker College’s Cadillac campus tomorrow. Will graduate March 20. At this time I reside in northern Michigan, however I would be willing to relocate for the best company for me. Will complete your application here. Thank you!

  20. I spent 7.5 years with PRIDE. I have to say it was the best job that I ever had. I knew that if I ever needed help, questions answered or just needed to hear another live, human voice, the company had my back. I still wear my Pride jacket, and I answer questions to people asking about my experience with pride. I tell them that it was the best employment experience I ever had, and that I wish I had come to Pride much sooner than I did. I am now retired and enjoying the good life overlooking the great Pacific Ocean.

    • Good for you Bernie….You truly were one of the very best drivers we have ever had. Glad your enjoying your retirement.

    • You can apply now…right here on the website. Give me a call when your app is complete. Steve Schelin , Director of Recruiting – 801-870-6214

  22. Hello Steve, do you hire out of Montana?. What all would I have to do as far as training goes? I have drove truck and was O/O . Last company I drove for was May Trucking in 2011,then had to go local which was a belly dump that ended in dec of 2012. I want to eventually be a trainer as well as getting into the safety side. Thank You

  24. I have one year experience half refer and half dry box live in Brigham city utah and currently working for the company across the street from you what would my starting cpm be. Also would I be able to take my truck home on home time if hired

  25. Good afternoon I am team Julie and Albert 12 years teaming together…we reside in Phoenix, AZ. Q” Do you have a terminal in Phoenix? And we are looking for Coast to Coast runs the way they used to be for teams., Who is the average length of haul per load? We usually run 4 to 6 weeks out and take 5 to 6 days off do you allow that?

    • That all sounds great. Yes we run team freight like it used to be run…coast to coast. Our average TEAM load is about 1500 miles…Yes 5 to 6 days off.

  26. I live in Glendale, AZ. Right now my wife lives in Illinois near Chicago. She is there taking care of our grandchild. At some point we will be adopting her, and when that happens they will be moving back to AZ. Right now I split my home time between AZ and IL. One home time I would be in AZ, then the next one in IL. Would that be a problem with Pride taking home time 2 different locations like that?

  27. I have 4 years of driving experience and live in Avondale Az. I am currently a flatbed driver. Do you hire any local drivers for that area or at least flatbed? Also what would oay rate be with 4 years?

    • We have flatbed regional and I have a AZ. to So. Cal. dedicated reefer open right now. Starting pay for flat with 4 years would be .39, start for reefer would be .37

  28. I have 12 years experience OTR, 3 of it Flatbed. Im intested in flatbed work. how much would you pay me, and do you hire out of the Denver, CO area. Thanks.

  29. hello.
i recently lost a job working steel due to an accident, now no steel place will hire so i’m looking around. a friend that has no relation to you say you might train to hire someone like me, is that possible? how do would you go about training me ? i was injured in the accident but am almost 100% back to normal but don’t have all strength back in my leg. would i need to load or unload a trailer?

    thanks, chris.

    • We do training but we don’t run a school. You would have to have a class A CDL before you come to us for paid training..

    • We do hire out of Vegas but I don’t have anything that fits that schedule. Two weeks on two days off is the best I could do

  30. Hello,

I drove refer units OTR years ago and I drove locally in Utah until about 2010. I still have my CDL but no Hazmat endorsement. I’m looking at the possibility of getting back into this. Does your company require Hazmat or is it not an issue since you primarily deal with refrigerated loads?

    Thanks.

    • No Haz required but unless you have recent OTR experience you would have to train or do a 50 hour paid evaluation

  31. I have a class A without hazmat. I live in Lincoln, Nebraska. I tried some local work and hated it. I don’t like city driving. I’m working thru some personal issues but still want to get into OTR trucking. I live about 50 miles from Werner in Omaha. How do you compete with them as far as driver retention? You seem to have competative benefits, but the pay is not as competative. Currently I work for Tenneco in a non driving position. Oh one thing I need to add. I suck at backing. I’m really bad and want to work on that. How can you help me at that?

    • We absolutely crush Werner in every aspect. Our turnover is 30% less than theirs. Although they may post a higher CPM guaranteed you will make more money overall at Pride. Do they offer paid HOLIDAYS?

      • I’m not really sure if they do. What is the pay for working holidays? Currently if I work a holiday I get $30.00 an hour. Do you hire out of Nebraska? A dumb question. I saw on Facebook that your trucks have direct TV. Again a dumb question but that would make life easier if I were out for 3 or 4 weeks at a time. Do you really have that in your trucks?

  32. I have had 21 years over the road driving experience. I let my CDL lapse last September. I recently went back to the swift Academy driving school to get my CDL back. They are telling me that I have no prior experience and then I have to go out with a trainer for six weeks I do have my CDL back now what what I need to do the drive for you all

  33. Hi Steve, do you hire out of NY? I have a class B, but no experience yet, I am eager to join the transportation industry but I have had no opportunity yet.

  34. I graduate from Truck driving school in 2 weeks from Portland Oregon. Do you have regional runs available for recent grads in this area for a veteran that had driving experience during active service?

  35. I am a CR England graduate looking to join your company. I am currently with a trainer otr. I already have my cdl. Is there a way to join your company and get out of the CR England contract?

  36. Do you hire out Flatbed out of Rocky Mount, NC and if you do, what is the drivers expected home time?

  37. I just recently got my CDL Class A Permit, but I was doing some research into Swift Transportation and after reading the reviews on the company want to find a better trucking company willing to train me on driving OTR. Not sure if you guys require a CDL out of the gate or if you would train someone with a Permit,

    • Yes you have to have your license when you come here.
We offer a paid training program.
This program consists of going over the road with one of our trainers for a total of 300 driving hours.
The first 100 hours normally takes about two weeks. During this time both you and your trainer are in the front seats of the truck and he is teaching you how to drive. You take your 10 hour breaks at the same time. You are paid a salary of $450.00 per week for this phase.

Once you complete the 300 hour program you come back to the terminal and complete your road test with our Safety Trainer.
Upon successful completion of the road test we put you into your own truck and you are paid .33 per mile as a solo driver.
Pride Transport will also reimburse the cost of your driving school tuition at $125.00 per month up to $6,000.00

  38. Hello,
I noticed your website says that training will be 90 days long. How many of those days are spent with a trainer in a truck?
    Thanks

    • The training is 300 drive hours. Usually takes about 7 weeks. Trainer with you the whole time

    • We have a training program but you have to already have your class A CDL when you come to us.

    • We have three Denver Local drivers and they are all full now but I will keep your email address in case I get an opening. You want to run Western regional until that happens?

  39. I have 3 months current OTR experience. How long would I have to be with a trainer?
Do you hire out of Atlanta, GA?

    • Yes Sparks is great. Hometime is out 2 to 3 weeks then home for 2 to 3 days…We have auto and standard trans

  40. Looking to join your company after the fiasco I just had with Schneider National. Do you hire out of Houston, TX? If so, what are you hiring for and how soon can I start? I have about 10 months of experience, but, it is not all at one company.

  41. I’m a resent CDL licensee with doubles and tanker. I have 5 years of experience mostly oilfield and off road. I’ve never had an at fault accident and only one moving violation in the last 20 years. Would you hire out of Northeast Wyoming?

    • Yes but you would need to bring a car here to take home for hometime. We don’t have any freight in Northeast WY.

  42. I live in Odessa TX, and have 2 yrs otr experience, with some flatbed; are you hiring out of that area?
